Privacy Policy
Last updated October 21, 2026
Sun City Night Lights, LLC (“SCNL,” “we,” “us”) installs permanent and seasonal outdoor lighting. This policy explains what information we collect through our website, customer portal, Light studio and messages, what we do with it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. In short: we use your information to quote, install and bill your lighting and to keep in touch about it. We do not sell your information, and we do not use advertising or analytics trackers.
1. Information you give us
- Quote requests: your name, email, phone number, address, how you prefer to be contacted, what you’re interested in and any notes you add.
- Your account: your name, email, phone number, address and a password (stored only in scrambled, one-way form — we can’t see it). We email you a link to confirm your address.
- Quotes, contracts and payments: the details of your project, your signature and initials on your agreement, and your payment history. Card and bank payments are processed by Stripe; we never see or store your full card number.
- In-person quote scheduling: the days and times you tell us you’re available.
- Messages: calls, texts and emails between you and us.
- Referrals: if you refer a friend, the name and contact details you give us for them, so we can reach out and credit you.
2. The Light studio (photos of your home)
The Light studio lets you upload a photo of a house and see it with lights. When you use it:
- We keep the photo you upload and the images we make from it, with your designs. Before storing a photo we remove the hidden data phones attach to it, including the GPS location where it was taken.
- The images are made on our own equipment, not sent to an outside AI company. Our image server deletes its copy of your photo as soon as your image is finished. We do not use your photos to train AI models.
- Images we show you carry our logo and a watermark. Our staff can see the photos and images you make, so we can follow up on your project.
- To keep the free tries fair (2 per browser, and no more than 6 per internet connection every 30 days), we record your IP address with each image, place a cookie in your browser, and keep a one-way device signature — a scrambled code made from your IP address, browser type and language settings. It cannot be turned back into your IP address and is used only to count free tries.
- Only upload photos you have the right to use. Please don’t upload photos of people.
3. Information collected automatically
- Basic request information — your IP address and browser type — which our servers use to keep the site secure, limit abuse and keep you signed in.
- When you sign an agreement, we record the time, your IP address, the approximate city and state that IP address belongs to, your device and browser, and a code identifying your device. This is the evidence that you are the person who signed.
- Information about your property: to measure your roofline and prepare your quote, we look up your address on maps and satellite imagery and use public building-outline data.
4. How we use your information
- To prepare quotes, measure your home, schedule visits and install, maintain and remove your lights.
- To create and manage your account, contracts, invoices, payment plans and payment reminders.
- To work out the correct sales tax for your address.
- To contact you by phone, text and email about your quote, project and account, as described in our Terms of Service.
- To run our referral program and credit referrals.
- To keep our site secure, prevent fraud and abuse, and meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations.
5. Who we share it with
We share information only with companies that help us run our business, only what they need for that job, and never so they can market to you:
- Stripe — processes card and bank payments.
- Spire Ledgers — our bookkeeping and invoicing system.
- DocuSign — if you sign your agreement through DocuSign.
- IONOS — delivers our emails.
- Google — address search, maps and satellite imagery, roof measurements and driving distance. The site also loads its fonts from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address.
- OpenStreetMap and Esri — building outlines for a location, to help measure your roof.
- U.S. Census Bureau and the New Mexico Taxation & Revenue Department — we send your property’s map location (not your name) to find which city, county and tax rate apply.
- IP location services (ipwho.is, ip-api.com) — receive your IP address when you sign an agreement, to record the approximate location of the signing.
We may also share information if the law requires it, to protect our rights or someone’s safety, or as part of selling or reorganizing our business, in which case this policy continues to apply.
6. Text messages
Our texts come from our own business phone line. Reply STOP to stop texts at any time. We do not sell or share your mobile number or your consent to receive texts with anyone for their own marketing.
7. Cookies
We use only cookies the site needs to work. No advertising or analytics cookies.
- Sign-in — keeps you signed in, and remembers a device you trust for two-step sign-in.
- Light studio — a random browser code used to count free tries and show you your own designs.
- Referrals — remembers who referred you, if you arrived through a referral link.
- Your browser also remembers when you have closed one of our pop-ups (a promotion or the Light studio invitation), so it isn’t shown again.
8. How long we keep it
- Quotes, contracts, invoices and payment records: for as long as we need them to provide service and warranty support, and to meet tax, accounting and legal requirements.
- Light studio photos and images: until you ask us to delete them.
- Our backups are kept for up to 12 months, so a deleted item can remain in a backup until that backup expires.
9. How we protect it
The site is served only over encrypted connections. Passwords are stored in one-way form, signing in on a new device needs a one-time code we email you, and the most sensitive records we hold are encrypted. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and limit who can see it.
10. Your choices
- You can see your quotes, contracts and invoices in your account, and ask us to update your details.
- You can ask for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it — including your Light studio photos. We’ll respond within 45 days. Some records, such as signed contracts and payment history, we must keep for legal and tax reasons.
- You can stop texts by replying STOP, and ask us to stop emailing you at any time.
11. Children
Our services are for adults. We don’t knowingly collect information from children under 13; if you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
12. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top, and tell you directly if the change is significant.
